Can Artificial Intelligence replace a human being? This is the most frequently asked question that came to our minds. Perhaps the answer is yes because, in the last month, a new AI-powered phenomenon has seized the internet in a storm. We've seen several chatbots that provide 24-hour support, but this one is unique and intriguing. ChatGPT-3 was newly released, and it only took 5 days to gain 1 million subscribers. NLP (natural language processing) systems that have been trained can modify texts and communicate with humans.

What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is an example of the advancement of technology. ChatGPT is a free and open AI platform. ChatGPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) is a sort of natural language processing software. ChatGPT is a novel approach to interacting with people and bots that interact so naturally that it almost feels like a spontaneous conversation. ChatGPT can respond to any question with an explanation. ChatGPT Launch in November 2022. Open AI produced the chatbot, which is based on the GPT-3.5 series of language learning models. Open AI was created in 2015 as a research and development business.Elon Musk, Grey Brockman, and Sam Altman are the co-founders of this company.

How does this platform work?

175 billion parameters are used to train the ChatGPT platform. parameters capable of generating human-like texts and responses by providing a concise and unique answer to each question you ask; additionally, this chatbot can re-generate the answer to the same question you ask. ChatGPT parameters are commonly found in AI writing and SEO tools. Furthermore, based on input from people, it underwent Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF). This means that the platform is constantly evolving as a result of human interactions.

  • Chatbot

A chatbot is a form of AI software that simulates user interaction, often through text or

speech. It is a computer-based program that is widely used in today's world for online

customer inquiries because chatbots can quickly answer questions and reduce customer

 wait times.

  • AI ( Artificial Intelligence)
According to the Oxford Dictionary, "artificial intelligence" (AI) is the theory and

development of computer systems able to perform tasks normally requiring human

intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and

 translation between languages.

What makes ChatGPT unique?

Platforms similar to Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri already exist. These platforms enable users to ask questions and receive immediate responses. But how is ChatGPT different from these other platforms? ChatGPT is the most powerful language model because it was trained on a massive amount of data—data that other platforms do not have access to. ChatGPT can generate responses to a wide range of topics, including answering questions, explaining things, and talking. The ChatGPT may "admit errors, discuss incorrect premises, deny unsuitable requests," and respond to follow-up queries." It can carry on a full-fledged conversation with users.

How are people engaging with ChatGPT?

ChatGPT reached a million users in 4 days, which is relatively quick compared to many other popular applications we use today. Instagram, for example, took nearly 90 days to reach that milestone. The allure of this technology has compelled people to experiment in new ways, and the Internet is flooded with examples of what people have done with this latest sensation. I am not endorsing this platform in any way. I'm just trying to understand the outrage because it dominated the news for two months. Let's look at how people's experiences with ChatGPT are:

  • A user requests chatGPT: "Why is combustion always low in efficiency while electrochemistry is more efficient? chatGPT responds to the user with a ready-made explanation with examples. user said that the explanation was so much better than what the academics could teach." (Twitter)

  • ChatGPT is being used by Tinder users to message their matches.

  • ChatGPT is being used by students to write their research papers.

  • Many users have shared updates about their experiences producing poems with ChatGPT.

  • ChatGPT is also being regarded as a successor to the Google search engine, which is a bold statement, but the miracles it is performing are still unthinkable, and it can generate ideas for food, movies, games, and so on based on user input.

Limitations of ChatGPT

  1. ChatGPT can have ramifications for cybersecurity.
  2. unethical usage of chatGPT.
  3. ChatGPT is susceptible to misinformation and bias.
  4. ChatGPT isn't completely accurate. It is easily misinterpreted.
  5. ChatGPT lacks the experience and depth that humans do.
  6. ChatGPT can give incorrect answers to, for example, algebraic problems.
  7. There is no real-time output in Chatgpt.

ChatGPT and Ethical Concerns?

  • Dangerous and Negative Coding: Several users have explored the chatbot's capability to perform malicious acts. Despite their claims to be amateurs, some users have complained that the chatbot generates harmful and hazardous code.

  • Biased Data and Information Production: One issue is the possibility of bias in the generated code, since biases in the training data used to develop the code generator may be reflected in the output code.

  • Phishing Email Composition: ChatGPT is configured to deny requests to produce phishing emails or harmful code, but in reality, ChatGPT generates an excellent phishing email.

  • The Plagiarism chokepoint: Plagiarism in academia is not a new problem, but ChatGPT has changed how AI is used to generate original content. As a result, identifying plagiarised content is challenging. Teachers and academics have also raised concerns about the influence of ChatGPT on written assignments and research papers.

The Way Forward

  • Increasing its capacity to comprehend the context and act accordingly, for example, by being able to carry on a discussion about a certain subject or figuring out the tone and intent of a communication.

  • Acquiring more sophisticated interaction skills, such as managing many activities and participating in complicated conversations.

  • Strengthening its ability to respond with more accurate and insightful information by expanding its knowledge base.

  • To develop the capacity to know numerous languages and dialects and respond to them.

Albert Einstein made a remarkable statement: "I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interactions. The world will have a generation of idiots."
