According to the Global Culture Score Index, India has the highest average weekly time spent reading, at 10 hours and 42 minutes. In my experience, if I look back two years, I was a complete non-reader. Yet a lack of knowledge and a lack of self-awareness led me to read a book. I recall my first reading being "The Wings of Fire," an autobiography by former Indian President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Everyone can learn a lot from Kalam Sir. This is the story of a small-town kid, Defense Research at DRDO, who rose to become India's president. Kalam Sir highlights the value of hard effort, tenacity, and self-belief throughout the text.
